There’s nothing that encapsulates a vibrant, thriving garden like the presence of pollinator plants. Beautiful colours and dazzling displays, but also the fact that it is literally buzzing with life. Bees and butterflies bring more than just a pleasing hum and lovely colours - they are integral to keeping a garden healthy. Pollinator plants really are the gifts that keep on giving. Did you know that bees see purple more than other colours? We did, and that’s why we have an entire section of our site dedicated to purple plants. And we couldn’t write a section about pollinator friendly  plants without mentioning buddleia - one of the most effective plants at attracting butterflies and bees.

Winter Pollinator Plants

We love bees, and we find them fascinating. Did you know that some brave little bees come out from underground during the winter, particularly now that we are experiencing milder winters, in order to look for nectar?

We want to help out, so we stock a range of winter pollinator plants, like the winter flowering clematis, that can provide bees with enough nectar to make it through the winter, ready to pollinate our gardens and crops when the weather picks up.
