Product description

Also known as Sweet Scabious, Scabiosa 'Ebony and Ivory' is a striking blend of deep burgundy-black and creamy white blooms that dance elegantly on slender stems from midsummer to early autumn. This eye-catching mix brings dramatic contrast to borders, containers, and cutting gardens, with pincushion-like flowers that are irresistible to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

Sow directly outdoors in shallow drills with rows around 30cm apart from April to May. Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil and prepare the soil thoroughly before planting. Alternatively, sow in trays under glass and plant out when the seedlings are large enough to handle and the risk of frost has passed. Plants bloom from July to October and reach up to 90cm tall, making them ideal for mid-border planting or stylish floral arrangements. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and enjoy a continuous display of rich, romantic colour.

Whether you're designing a pollinator-friendly patch or curating a bouquet with flair, 'Ebony and Ivory' offers elegance, movement, and a touch of wild beauty.
