Product description

Chilli Pepper 'Scotch Bonnet Red' is a legendary Caribbean variety known for its fiery heat and fruity, tropical flavour. Producing distinctive bonnet-shaped fruits that ripen to a vibrant red hue, this Chilli delivers serious spice, typically ranging from 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville units. Ideal for jerk marinades, hot sauces, and bold cooking, it’s a must-have for heat lovers and adventurous chefs.

Sow seeds indoors from February to April in warm, moist compost, and transplant seedlings into pots or greenhouse beds once they reach 5–8cm tall. Gradually acclimatise and plant out from May to June, bringing the plants back inside to ripen any end of season fruits in the greenhouse. Water regularly and feed with a high-potash fertiliser once fruits begin to form. Harvest (wearing gloves!) from July to October, when fruits reach full colour and flavour intensity.

Compact and highly productive, 'Scotch Bonnet Red' thrives in containers, greenhouses, or warm garden beds. Its eye-catching fruits and explosive flavour make it a standout choice for growers seeking authentic Caribbean heat and culinary impact.
