Product description
Tulip Negrita Double is an intensely rich, luxurious variety that produces layers upon layers of velvety, deep beetroot-purple petals. It mimics the appearance of a dark, heavy peony, bringing a sense of drama, depth, and opulence to the mid-spring garden that lighter colours simply cannot achieve.
Plant these bulbs roughly 15 cm deep in November, ensuring the soil is amended with grit if you are dealing with heavy clay. Because the densely packed flower heads are incredibly heavy, they are best cared for by planting them in pots or highly sheltered borders where wind and rain won't knock them flat.
These bulbs are supplied at a size of 11-12.

Top Tip
A tip for Tulip Negrita Double is to plant it directly in the center of an elegant terracotta pot. The incredibly dense, velvety, beetroot-purple double flower heads look exceptionally luxurious when contained and elevated on a patio.
How to Water
When it comes to watering Tulip Negrita Double, give the soil a single deep soak immediately after planting to establish the roots. After this initial drink, it requires no further irrigation unless the active spring growing season is unusually dry.
How to Plant
To properly plant Tulip Negrita Double, wait until November and dig a hole roughly 15 cm deep in well-draining loam. Place the bulb firmly at the bottom with its pointed tip facing the sky before covering it back up.
