Product description

Tulip Apricot Parrot delivers a wild, unpredictable display of heavily fringed and twisted petals splashed with a vibrant mix of apricot, pink, and vibrant green. Not only does this variety look like a vibrant piece of modern art, but it also produces a strong, sweet fragrance that is relatively rare among modern highly-bred hybrids.

Bury the bulbs roughly 15 cm deep in soil that does not sit wet during the winter. To get the most out of this spectacular flower, place it in a sheltered patio pot or a wind-protected border, as the heavily textured petals are highly prone to bruising and weather damage if whipped around by spring storms.

These bulbs are supplied at a size of 11-12.

Instructions

Top Tip

A tip for Tulip Apricot Parrot is to cut a few stems for an indoor vase just as the buds show strong colour. Examining the intricate, twisted, multi-coloured petals up close indoors is often much more rewarding than viewing them from a distance.

How to Water

When it comes to watering Tulip Apricot Parrot, give the soil a single deep soak immediately after planting to establish the roots. After this initial drink, it requires no further irrigation unless the active spring growing season is unusually dry.

How to Plant

To properly plant Tulip Apricot Parrot, wait until November and dig a hole roughly 15 cm deep in well-draining loam. Place the bulb firmly at the bottom with its pointed tip facing the sky before covering it back up.
