Product description
Tomato 'Nagina' is a superb F1 hybrid cocktail tomato, renowned for its ability to produce beautiful, uniform trusses of fruit. This productive cordon variety grows as a tall vine, yielding heavy crops of perfectly round, bright red tomatoes with a delicious, sweet flavour. Because the fruits ripen together evenly on the vine, this variety is ideal for harvesting and presenting as whole trusses, making it a top choice for greenhouse cultivation.
Sow 'Nagina' seeds in pots or trays of compost under cover, keeping them in a warm place at around 20-22C for reliable germination. When the seedlings have developed their first true leaves, carefully prick them out into individual pots and grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions. Gradually acclimatise the young plants to outdoor conditions before moving them to their final growing position after all risk of hard frost has passed.
Choose a spot in full sun with rich, fertile, and well-draining soil. As a productive cordon variety, it is essential to provide sturdy support, such as a tall cane or string, for the vine to be tied to as it grows. Space plants about 45-60cm apart. Water consistently and feed regularly with a high-potash fertiliser once fruits begin to form. To direct energy into fruiting, regularly pinch out the side shoots that appear between the main stem and leaf branches.
