Product description

Tomato 'Micro Cherry' is an ultra-compact dwarf variety, specifically developed to grow successfully in the smallest of spaces. This tiny determinate (bush) plant typically reaches only 20-30cm in height, producing a surprisingly heavy and ornamental crop for its size. It yields masses of very small, sweet, red cherry tomatoes, making it the perfect choice for growing on a sunny windowsill or in mixed patio containers.

Sow 'Micro Cherry' seeds in small pots of compost under cover, keeping them in a warm place at around 20-22C for good germination. When seedlings have developed their first true leaves, they can be transplanted into their final, slightly larger pots to grow on. If moving to an outdoor container, gradually acclimatise the young plants to external conditions, ensuring all risk of hard frost has passed.

Choose a small pot (around 15-20cm in diameter) with good quality potting compost and place it in the sunniest position possible. No staking or support is required for this tiny plant. Consistent watering is absolutely essential, as small pots can dry out very quickly. Feed regularly with a liquid tomato fertiliser once the first flowers appear to support a heavy crop. No pinching out or pruning is needed; simply let the plant bush out and fruit naturally.
