Product description

Tomato 'Cocktail Crush' F1 is a modern hybrid, specially bred for its superb resistance to blight, making it a very reliable choice. This productive cordon variety grows as a tall vine, yielding heavy trusses of uniform, cocktail-sized red tomatoes. The fruits have a fantastic sweet flavour and juicy texture, and its resilience makes it an excellent choice for growing outdoors, as well as in a greenhouse.

Sow 'Cocktail Crush' F1 seeds in pots or trays of compost under cover, keeping them in a warm place at around 20-22C for reliable germination. When the seedlings have developed their first true leaves, carefully prick them out into individual pots and grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions. Gradually acclimatise the young plants to outdoor conditions before moving them to their final growing position after all risk of hard frost has passed.

Choose a spot in full sun with rich, fertile, and well-draining soil. As a productive cordon variety, it is essential to provide sturdy support, such as a tall cane or stake, for the vine to be tied to as it grows. Space plants about 45-60cm apart. Water consistently and feed regularly with a high-potash fertiliser once the first fruits begin to form. To direct energy into fruiting, regularly pinch out the side shoots that appear between the main stem and leaf branches.
