Product description
This lovely springtime mix of Chionodoxa bulbs provides a dazzling splash of colour from early March, when it is most needed after the dark days of winter. Commonly known as ‘Glory of the Snow ’, this hardy, low maintenance Spring bulb is quick to establish and will happily naturalise in lawns, rockeries, or in the dappled shade beneath trees and shrubs. In time, Chiondoxa ‘Mixed ’ will multiply to form carpets of starry blooms that will increase in size and intensity.
Glory of the Snow bulbs are ideal for planting in borders, rock gardens, containers or beneath deciduous trees. Grow Chionodoxa in full sun or partial shade, in any well drained soil. Add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting to improve less than ideal soils. Plant bulbs at a depth of 8cm (3"). Create natural looking drifts of Chionodoxa flowers by gently casting the bulbs across the lawn or planting area and planting them where they land.

Top Tip
When the foliage starts to yellow and die back at the end of the season, resist the urge to prune it. Allowing the plant to die back naturally enhances its energy levels, resulting in a wonderful display of flowers the following year.
How to Water
Water thoroughly when planting. After this, chionodoxas planted in the ground should only need to be watered during dry spells. Bulbs grown in pots and containers will need watering more regularly to prevent the soil from drying out.
How to Plant
Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil and prepare the ground by weeding and removing any stones or clumps. Plant chionodoxa bulbs in autumn before the ground gets too hard and ensure the soil isn’t waterlogged when planting. Using a bulb planter or trowel, dig holes around 5cm apart and 5-10cm deep. Place one bulb in each hole, ensuring the pointed end faces upwards. Fill in the holes, firming the soil down gently, and water in well.
