Product description
Tulip turkestanica is a wild botanical species tulip that looks entirely different from the rest of the list, producing a branching stem that holds a spray of up to twelve tiny, star-shaped ivory flowers with golden-yellow centers. Because it has not been heavily hybridized, it remains incredibly tough, delicate in appearance, and highly attractive to early spring pollinators.
Unlike the hybrids, plant this smaller bulb slightly shallower—around 10 cm deep—in gritty, free-draining soil. To care for it properly, you must absolutely ignore the standard tulip rules: never deadhead the spent blooms, but instead allow them to go to seed naturally so this tough little bulb can multiply and form permanent, returning clumps in your garden.
These bulbs are supplied at a size of 7/8.

Top Tip
A tip for Tulip turkestanica is to break the golden rule of tulips and strictly never deadhead the spent blooms. Allowing the star-shaped flowers to die back naturally lets this wild species self-seed and form larger permanent clumps over time.
How to Water
When it comes to watering Tulip turkestanica, give the soil a single deep soak immediately after planting to establish the roots. After this initial drink, it requires no further irrigation unless the active spring growing season is unusually dry.
How to Plant
To properly plant Tulip turkestanica, wait until November and dig a hole roughly 10 cm deep in well-draining loam. Place the bulb firmly at the bottom with its pointed tip facing the sky before covering it back up.
