Product description

Ranunculus Peony bulbs are a great addition to any outdoor space. These compact plants produce densely layered blooms that resemble miniature peonies – hence the name. Each pack contains a mix of colours, offering a vibrant and varied display from late spring into early summer. These flowers work well in borders, patio pots, or cutting gardens, adding structure and colour without taking over the space.

Position your Ranunculus bulbs in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-draining soil. During the growing season, water regularly and deadhead spent blooms to help extend the flowering period. After blooming, allow the foliage to die back naturally so the bulbs can store energy for the following year. With minimal care, they’ll return reliably each season.

To plant, soak the claw-like bulbs for a few hours before placing them claw-side down, around 5cm deep and spaced 10cm apart. Once in the ground, they establish quickly and require little attention.

Instructions

Top Tip

Try planting your bulbs in odd-numbered clusters, like groups of 3, 5, or 7, rather than in neat rows. Doing this mimics nature’s randomness and creates a more visually striking display when they bloom.

How to Water

Water the bulbs thoroughly after planting to help them settle, then keep the soil lightly moist during their growing season—especially in dry spells. Avoid overwatering, as soggy soil can cause the bulbs to rot.

How to Plant

Soak the bulbs for a few hours before planting, then place them claw-side down about 5cm deep and 10cm apart in well-drained soil. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot and plant in autumn or early spring.
