Product description

This traditionally shaped tulip is made up of silky cream petals; each adorned with a gentle spring green stripe true to its name. Each perfectly formed cup-shaped bloom stands on a matching yellow-green stem with broad lance-shaped leaves. SpringGreen is a valuable spring variety which works wonderfully at breaking up large blocks of colour, but also exudes elegance when planted on its own in a patio pot.Don't forget that tulips like to be planted late in October and November with the colder weather (it helps wipe out disease, too.)

Garden care: In September to December plant bulbs 15-20cm deep and 10-15cm apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Alternatively, allow 7-9 bulbs per 30cm sq. After flowering dead-head and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser each week for the first month. Once the foliage has died down naturally lift the bulbs and store in a cool greenhouse.

Instructions

Top Tip

To extend bloom time, deadhead tulips after flowering and let the foliage die back naturally to nourish the bulbs for next year.

How to Water

Water tulips lightly after planting to settle the soil. Once they begin to grow, water regularly but avoid soggy conditions. Reduce watering once the flowers begin to fade, allowing the foliage to die back naturally.

How to Plant

Plant tulip bulbs in well-drained soil, 15-20cm deep and 4-6 inches apart. Choose a sunny location and ensure the pointed end of the bulb faces up. Plant in autumn for spring blooms, ensuring the soil is loose and well-drained.
