Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: Upright deciduous tree with spreading branches carrying light green, heart-shaped foliage and dense panicles of fragrant, double lilac-purple to white flowers from Spring.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height and spread of 2 – 4m.
Period of Interest: Spring and Summer interest. Dense trusses of small, star-shaped purple flowers fading to white over time to provide a bicoloured petal effect in Spring. Highly fragrant blooms.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in moist, fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Keep in full or partial sun. Prefers alkaline to neutral soils. Tolerant of partial shade but achieves best flowering under full sun.
A medium-sized variety of Syringa Tree or more commonly as Lilac. This species is well-known for its dense, highly fragrant flowering of colourful double blooms. The ‘Michel Buchner’ is a great example of this with its upright, multi-stemmed branches carrying light green, heart-shaped leaves beneath the deep lilac-purple flowers which fade to white to provide a wonderful bicoloured effect in the Spring. A reliable and low maintenance tree for almost any location.
Plant in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soils and keep in full or partial sun. Grows in most soils types but prefers alkaline to neutral, dry to medium-moisture soils. Tolerates lightly shaded areas but full sun will usually provide the best flower colour.

Beautiful tree
I took forever deciding whether to go ahead and purchase this tree as there are so many on offer and I thought it was perhaps a little expensive but I’m very glad I did. It arrived ahead of the expected schedule and contained in a very strong, very large box. No expense spared in the wrapping department!! The tree is just beginning to sprout it’s new leaves and is planted up in a large pot outside my front door. I look forward to watching it grow into the fine specimen I know it will be. Excited for its first fragrant blooms too!!
