Characteristics: Compact, bushy herbaceous perennial with deeply incised, mid-green foliage and spikes of tiny, pink flowers from Summer.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height and spread of 0.1 – 0.5m.
Period of Interest: Summer and Autumn interest. Pleasantly scented foliage when crushed. upright flower spires bearing clusters of tiny, cup-shaped pink blooms from mid-Summer through to the Autumn.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in moist, humus-rich, light, well-drained soils. Keep in full or partial sun. Prefers sand or gravel soils. Drought tolerant once established.
A compact but hardy and highly versatile variety. The Salvia ‘Feathers Flamingo’ is a lovely sage plant with scented, deeply cut leaves of dark green. The clumping foliage sits beneath upright spires of tiny pink flowers with a cup-shape. The blooms appear in the early to mid-Summer months and have a long flowering period lasting into the Autumn, with occasional second flowerings during this period.
Plant in humus-rich, moist, well-drained soils and keep in full sun. Tolerates partial sun but upright stems will wilt and droop when under too much shade. Prefers light, sandy or gravelly soils. Drought tolerant once established.
