Product description
Pyracantha Saphyr Yellow is a superb choice for creating a bright, reliable hedge that brings colour and structure to the garden all year round. Its glossy evergreen foliage forms a dense, secure screen, while clusters of creamy-white spring flowers develop into glowing yellow berries that shine through autumn and winter. Whether you’re lining a boundary or adding definition to a garden space, it offers a cheerful, long-lasting display that lifts the garden even in the colder months.
As a hedging plant, this Firethorn variety is wonderfully resilient and easy to manage. It thrives in sun or partial shade, adapts well to most soils, and quickly forms a sturdy, attractive barrier once established. A light prune after flowering helps maintain shape and encourages strong new growth, while the abundant berries provide a welcome food source for birds. With minimal effort, Pyracantha Saphyr Yellow creates a vibrant, dependable hedge that looks good in every season.

Top Tip
Keep the base of the hedge free from weeds so young Firethorn plants don’t have to compete for moisture and nutrients. This gives the roots space to establish well and helps the hedge fill out evenly.
How to Water
Water Firethorn regularly during the first growing season, keeping the soil evenly moist so the young plants can establish a strong root system. Once settled, give the hedge a deep soak during dry spells to maintain healthy growth and support a good display of berries later in the year.
How to Plant
Set each Firethorn plant into well-prepared soil in a sunny or partially shaded spot, spacing them around 45-60cm apart so they can knit together into a dense hedge. Firm the soil around the roots and water well after planting to help them establish quickly and start forming a strong, secure boundary.
