Product description

With its neat dark green foliage and soft pale blue flowers, this elegant form of Germander brings gentle colour and structure to sunny borders and patio displays. Teucrium Album has a naturally tidy habit that suits both modern and traditional planting schemes, offering a relaxed Mediterranean feel without overwhelming surrounding plants.

For best results, plant Germander in a warm, sheltered position where it can enjoy plenty of sunlight. Free draining soil is essential, especially through winter, and adding grit at planting helps keep the roots dry. A light trim after flowering maintains its compact outline and encourages fresh growth, while occasional watering during prolonged dry spells supports steady development. Its steady, evergreen presence makes Teucrium a practical choice for borders, containers, and mixed displays throughout the year.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.

Instructions

Top Tip

Don’t cut into old, woody stems - Germander responds best to light, regular shaping rather than hard renovation pruning.

How to Water

Give Germander occasional water during its first season to help it establish, allowing the soil to dry slightly between each soak. Once settled, it only needs attention in prolonged dry spells, as its preference for free‑draining conditions makes it naturally tolerant of drier soils.

How to Plant

Set Germander into a warm, sheltered spot with plenty of sun, placing it in free‑draining soil improved with grit to keep the roots dry over winter. Position it at the same depth as it was in its pot and firm the soil gently around the base to help it settle in well.
