Product description
Also known as Coneflower, Echinacea purpurea is a bold, long-flowering perennial that brings vibrant summer colour and a natural, meadow-style feel to the garden. Its large, daisy-like blooms sit proudly on tall, sturdy stems, drawing in bees and butterflies while adding height and movement to borders and mixed plantings. With its reliable nature and ability to return year after year, it’s a great choice for gardeners looking to create a lively, wildlife-friendly display with very little effort.
This hardy perennial thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it easy to settle into most garden spaces. Water it regularly while it establishes, then only during prolonged dry spells once mature. Removing faded flowers encourages fresh blooms and keeps the plant looking tidy through the season. Left to stand over winter, the seedheads add structure and provide food for birds before new growth returns in spring.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Let some of the Coneflower seedheads stand at the end of the season so they can provide winter structure and a natural food source for birds.
How to Water
Water Echinacea purpurea well after planting to help the roots settle, then keep the soil lightly moist while it establishes through its first season. Once mature, it only needs watering during extended dry spells, as it’s naturally drought-tolerant and prefers not to sit in wet soil.
How to Plant
Plant Echinacea purpurea in a sunny spot with well-drained soil, digging a hole just slightly wider than the rootball and setting the plant in at the same depth it was growing in its pot. Backfill firmly, water well to settle the soil around the roots, and give it a light mulch to help it establish strongly in its first season.
