Product description
If you’d love to fill your home with fabulous foliage but are concerned about furry members of the family nibbling leaves and coming to harm, then look no further than our Pet Safe House Plant Bundle. Aptly named, this indoor plant mix comprises a Elgergrass Prayer Plant, a Parlour Palm, and a Spider Plant and is completely safe to leave around pets. The worst you have to worry about is the cat knocking a pot off the shelf!
Calathea Elgergrass is an interesting houseplant boasting bright green leaves striped with silver. The underneath of the leaves is a sumptuous shade of dark red, becoming more apparent as the leaves close together in the evenings like hands in prayer, hence the common name, Prayer Plant. Reaching an eventual height of up to 60cm, an Elgergrass Prayer Plant adds a touch of elegance to any room.
Better known as Parlour Palm, Chamaedorea elegans features bright green stems arching with long, slender leaves. Given the right conditions, mature Parlour Palms can produce flower spikes with clusters of tiny yellow blooms. Chamaedorea elegans reaches an ultimate height of up to 120cm, making it an excellent statement plant.
Instantly recognisable, the Spider Plant is a quintessential house plant that never goes out of style. Long slender foliage is variegated with creamy white stripes and arches out to create an attractive shape. Spider Plants grow up to 60cm tall and are renowned for being easy to propagate through new plantlets forming on mature plants.
Whether you choose to display your new house plants together or separately, they don’t need a huge amount of attention to flourish. Place each plant in indirect light or partial shade, taking care not to choose a position where strong sunlight can cause leaf scorch. Water weekly, when the top 2-3cm of soil feels dry and reduce watering during the autumn and winter months when the plant isn’t growing.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
House Plant Size Guide
House plants come in a wide array of shapes and sizes depending on the variety and maturity of the plant.
6cm/12cm/15cm/19cm/23cm nursery pots are the most common size of pot that they are sold in. This measurement is the diameter at the top of the pot.
12cm potted plants are the most popular providing great value for money and an instant impact. Larger plants that come in pots of 20cm+ are great for making a statement in any room and can represent years of growth to get to that level of maturity and size.

Top Tip
Place the pots on a pebble tray of water or mist weekly to increase humidity around the plants.
How to Water
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry to the touch. During the growing season, this is typically once a week, but always adjust based on the environment. Reduce watering in the winter months when growth slows. Ensure excess water drains away to prevent root rot, keeping the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Use filtered or rainwater to avoid mineral build-up on the plant’s leaves.
How to Plant
To plant your Indoor Plant Mix, choose pots with good drainage holes and use a quality houseplant compost. Gently remove each plant from its nursery pot and loosen the roots if they appear compacted. Position each plant at the same depth as in its original pot, filling around it with soil and firming gently. Place the pots in a bright location with indirect sunlight, avoiding direct exposure to prevent leaf scorching. Water lightly after planting to settle the soil.
