Product description

Monstera Swiss Cheese Plant is a striking tropical houseplant, well-known for its large, glossy green leaves adorned with natural holes and splits. This plant comes with a sturdy coir moss pole, providing excellent support for climbing and encouraging vertical growth. This unique foliage transforms the visual appeal and allows light and air to pass through, mimicking its natural growth in dense rainforests. Native to Central and South America, this evergreen climber thrives in bright, indirect light, making it an ideal choice for indoor spaces.

With its adaptable nature, it can be trained to climb using the included coir moss pole or left to cascade naturally, adding a lush, tropical vibe to any setting. Beyond aesthetics, our Monstera Swiss Cheese Plant offers air-purifying benefits, helping to remove toxins and improve indoor air quality. It also acts as a natural humidifier, releasing moisture into the air to create a healthier living environment.

Delivered in a growers pot, this plant arrives at a convenient size for easy placement. As it matures, it can grow up to tall height, making it a stunning statement piece for homes, offices, or indoor gardens. Though rare in indoor settings, Monstera Swiss Cheese Plants can produce creamy white flowers, consisting of a fleshy spadix surrounded by a boat-shaped spathe. With minimal care requirements, including occasional watering and well-draining soil, our Monstera Swiss Cheese Plant is perfect for both beginners and experienced plant enthusiasts.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot - all plant measurements are taken from the base of the pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.

Top Tip

To encourage bigger, more fenestrated leaves, provide your Monstera deliciosa with a moss pole or stake for support. Tying the aerial roots to the pole helps mimic its natural climbing habit, leading to stronger growth and more dramatic leaf splits!

How to Water

Water Monstera deliciosa when the top 3-5cm of soil feels dry. Use room-temperature, filtered, or dechlorinated water to prevent leaf browning. Water thoroughly until excess drains out, but never let the plant sit in water, as this can cause root rot. In warmer months, water once a week or when needed, while in winter, reduce watering to every 2–3 weeks, allowing the soil to dry out more between waterings. Maintain humidity by misting occasionally, especially in dry indoor environments.

How to Plant

Plant in a well-draining, nutrient-rich potting mix with added perlite or orchid bark for aeration. Choose a pot with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging. Position the plant in bright, indirect light, avoiding direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves. When repotting, gently loosen the roots and place the plant at the same depth as before. Water thoroughly after planting, allowing excess water to drain away. If growing indoors, provide a moss pole or support to encourage vertical growth. Keep humidity levels high and maintain temperatures between 18–27°C for optimal growth.
