Top Tip
To encourage bigger, more fenestrated leaves, provide your Monstera deliciosa with a moss pole or stake for support. Tying the aerial roots to the pole helps mimic its natural climbing habit, leading to stronger growth and more dramatic leaf splits!
How to Water
Water Monstera deliciosa when the top 3-5cm of soil feels dry. Use room-temperature, filtered, or dechlorinated water to prevent leaf browning. Water thoroughly until excess drains out, but never let the plant sit in water, as this can cause root rot. In warmer months, water once a week or when needed, while in winter, reduce watering to every 23 weeks, allowing the soil to dry out more between waterings. Maintain humidity by misting occasionally, especially in dry indoor environments.
How to Plant
Plant in a well-draining, nutrient-rich potting mix with added perlite or orchid bark for aeration. Choose a pot with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging. Position the plant in bright, indirect light, avoiding direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves. When repotting, gently loosen the roots and place the plant at the same depth as before. Water thoroughly after planting, allowing excess water to drain away. If growing indoors, provide a moss pole or support to encourage vertical growth. Keep humidity levels high and maintain temperatures between 1827°C for optimal growth.
