Leucanthemum Daisy Queen is a classic Shasta Daisy, boasting large white flowers and sunny yellow centres held on sturdy stems above fresh green foliage. The familiar daisy flowers bring a cheerful feel to summer planting, while the neat, clump-forming habit makes the plant easy to work into borders and containers. Flowering through summer, it is a reliable choice for adding a good run of colour rather than a brief burst.
The simple, open flowers are a real asset in a wildlife-friendly garden, attracting bees and other pollinating insects when they are in bloom. Shasta Daisy also makes a good cut flower, so there is no reason to keep all those cheerful stems outside. 9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Cut some flowers for the vase while the outer petals are still fresh and the centres have only just opened. Shasta Daisy makes a useful cut flower, and removing a few stems for indoors also means less deadheading to do later.
How to Water
Shasta Daisy needs regular watering while it settles into its new position, particularly during warm weather. Once established, it copes well with short dry spells, but give it a thorough soak if the soil becomes dry for an extended period, especially while it is flowering.
How to Plant
Work some compost or well-rotted organic matter into the planting area before planting, particularly if the soil is poor or lacking in nutrients. Allow around 40-45cm between Shasta Daisy plants, then set each one at the same depth as it was growing in its pot, firm the soil gently around the roots, and water thoroughly.
