Product description

Heuchera ‘Electra’, Also known as Coral Bells or Alum Root, is an interesting low growing herbaceous shrub which is most notable for its large, bright yellow leaves with deep red veins. The leaves change colours with the seasons, starting as a bright yellow in spring, to a richer yellow-green during summer and into the autumn before fill maturing to a slight orange tan in the winter months. Short stems appear around mid to late Summer bearing small, white flowers which provide a speckle of colour above the leaves.

Grows best in moderately moist, well-drained soil and when kept full or partially shaded. If left in full sun it will suffer leaf scorch during the hotter summer days causing some bleaching and fading of leaf colour.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Herbaceous plants die back below the soil in the Winter and may be supplied in their dormant state during this time. Fresh growth will be seen the following Spring.

Instructions

Top Tip

Heuchera plants thrive with a layer of mulch to retain moisture and keep the roots cool during hot weather.

How to Water

Heuchera prefers consistently moist, well-drained soil. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, but avoid overwatering as they don't like soggy conditions. Water at the base to prevent leaf disease.

How to Plant

Plant Heuchera in well-drained soil. Choose a spot with partial to full shade. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, place the plant in, and cover the roots with soil. Space plants 30-45cm apart for good air circulation.
