Product description
Mint 'Tashkent Curled' is a popular perennial herb, highly prized for its unique ornamental foliage and rich flavour. The primary part used for its culinary value is its distinctively curled and wavy leaves, which provide a strong, sweet spearmint flavour. This excellent flavour makes it a top choice for brewing fresh tea, creating mint sauces and jellies, or using as an aromatic garnish. The plant's attractive, small lilac-pink flowers that appear in spikes are also edible.
When it comes to planting and maintenance, this is an easy-to-grow, spreading perennial that is extremely adaptable. It is not fussy about its light conditions and will thrive in locations with either full sun or partial shade. The main requirement for it to grow well is providing it with soil that is kept consistently moist. A critical maintenance point is that all mints are highly invasive, so it must be planted in a container or with root barriers to prevent it from taking over. As an added benefit, its attractive flowers are known to be very popular with pollinators.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
The crinkled texture of Mint 'Tashkent Curled' holds dressings and vinaigrettes much better than flat-leaved varieties, making it superior for chopped salads. However, be sure to wash the leaves thoroughly before use, as the deep curls are excellent at hiding small garden grit.
How to Water
Water Mint 'Tashkent Curled' regularly to maintain even soil moisture, directing the water at the soil surface rather than over the crinkled leaves. Consistent watering prevents powdery mildew, which can affect dry, stressed plants.
How to Plant
Plant the hardy Mint 'Tashkent Curled' in moist, fertile soil in sun or partial shade, restricting the roots with a container or barrier to control its spread. Keep the soil consistently damp to support the unique curled texture of the foliage.
