Product description
Hemerocallis, known commonly as the Daylily, is a classic perennial that adds vibrant colour and long-lasting blooms to borders and beds. The ‘Red’ variety stands out with its striking crimson-red flowers and golden centre, making it a showstopper in summer garden displays. Each flower may only last a day, but the plant continuously produces buds, creating an extended period of colour.
This hardy perennial is easy to grow and thrives in full sun with well-drained soil. It’s tolerant of different soil types and weather conditions, making it a great option for UK gardens. With its compact clump-forming habit and strap-shaped foliage, it complements mixed borders and can also be used in containers.
Ideal for pollinator-friendly planting schemes, Hemerocallis Red is loved by bees and other beneficial insects. It's also an excellent low-maintenance choice for gardeners of all experience levels and makes a vibrant companion to ornamental grasses and other summer-flowering perennials.

Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Hemerocallis with darker flowers hold their vibrant colours best when they can enjoy some light afternoon shade. Avoid planting in full shade, but position the plants so that full sun doesn’t bleach the flowers all day long.
How to Water
Water Hemerocallis thoroughly after planting and regularly during the growing season. Aim to keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged as they don’t like soggy roots. Once established, Hemerocallis are generally drought tolerant, however, you may notice fewer flowers in dry soil.
How to Plant
For the best show of flowers, plant Hemerocallis in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-draining soil. Backfill the hole ensuring the crown is level with the soil surface and gently firm down.
