Product description

Hemerocallis 'Pink Wing', also known as the Daylily 'Pink Wing', is a graceful herbaceous perennial prized for its repeat-flowering nature and striking bicolour blooms. The flowers emerge in a soft pink with a warm yellow centre, creating a radiant, eye-catching display above arching green foliage. Its compact habit and generous flowering window make it a standout in borders, containers, and rockeries alike.

Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, this hardy perennial performs reliably in various garden settings across the UK. Blooming steadily from June through September, it offers long-lasting colour throughout the summer months. Easy to care for, 'Pink Wing' is drought-tolerant once established and flourishes even in heavier clay soils, making it a resilient choice for low-maintenance gardens.

Perfect for gardeners seeking both elegance and ease, Hemerocallis 'Pink Wing' attracts bees and other beneficial pollinators, supporting garden biodiversity. It pairs beautifully with ornamental grasses and other summer perennials and is ideal for use in cut flower arrangements thanks to its showy blooms. Whether planted en masse or used as a subtle accent, it brings a soft, romantic glow to any outdoor space.

Instructions

Top Tip

Hemerocallis with darker flowers hold their vibrant colours best when they can enjoy some light afternoon shade. Avoid planting in full shade, but position the plants so that full sun doesn’t bleach the flowers all day long.

How to Water

Water Hemerocallis thoroughly after planting and regularly during the growing season. Aim to keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged as they don’t like soggy roots. Once established, Hemerocallis are generally drought tolerant, however, you may notice fewer flowers in dry soil.

How to Plant

For the best show of flowers, plant Hemerocallis in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-draining soil. Backfill the hole ensuring the crown is level with the soil surface and gently firm down.
