Product description
Guzmania Francesca is the ideal houseplant to bring an exotic addition to your home. The evergreen foliage forms on upright stems, then arches outwards near the peak of each leaf. From the centre, a vertical flowerspike grows and features fiery red and yellow flowers in Summer and Autumn. This Bromeliad is very eye-catching due to those vibrant colours. It will also fill any area well as it grows to an ultimate height of 0.6m and spread of 0.5m.
Guzmanias are easy to care for. They will appreciate any area that offers bright, indirect light. Being tolerant to moist soil types makes any repotting process simple. Water the plant so its soil is kept moist and well-drained, whilst also ensuring the plant receives high humidity levels.

House Plant Size Guide
House plants come in a wide array of shapes and sizes depending on the variety and maturity of the plant.
6cm/12cm/15cm/19cm/23cm nursery pots are the most common size of pot that they are sold in. This measurement is the diameter at the top of the pot.
12cm potted plants are the most popular providing great value for money and an instant impact. Larger plants that come in pots of 20cm+ are great for making a statement in any room and can represent years of growth to get to that level of maturity and size.

Top Tip
Provide your Guzmania with consistent warmth and high humidity to keep it thriving. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as its delicate leaves can scorch. Fertilise monthly during the growing season using a diluted bromeliad feed applied directly into the central cup or the soil. Guzmania’s colourful bracts can last for several months, adding vibrant flair to your indoor space.
How to Water
Water Guzmania by filling its central cup with rainwater or distilled water, as tap water can cause mineral build-up. Empty and refill the cup every two weeks to prevent stagnation and bacterial growth. During warmer months, mist the plant lightly to maintain humidity. Ensure the soil remains lightly moist but never soggy, allowing it to dry slightly between waterings to avoid root rot.
How to Plant
To plant Guzmania, select a bright spot with indirect sunlight and well-draining, slightly acidic soil. If planting in a pot, use a mix designed for bromeliads or a combination of orchid bark and standard potting soil. Avoid covering the plant’s central cup, as this is essential for water retention. Secure the plant gently in the soil, keeping the roots shallow, and place it in a warm, humid environment to encourage healthy growth.
