Product description

Our Vaccinium macrocarpon Pilgrim is a fruit plant that bears a great amount of colour. Its pink-white Summer flowers bring great vibrancy to the garden, before edible, red Cranberries begin to grow in Autumn. Their sweet and rich taste adds a different element to any juices or sauces you make with them, and they can also be eaten individually as part of any balanced diet.

They will grow to an ultimate height of 2m and ultimate spread of 0.5m. In terms of plant care, it should be placed in bright, indirect sunlight and planted in moist, well-drained soil. Watering becomes essential when the soil is dry to touch.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a growers pot.

Instructions

Top Tip

Cranberries require a cold dormancy period in winter to fruit properly. Ensure they receive enough chill hours for the best harvest.

How to Water

Cranberries need consistent moisture, especially during fruiting. Water deeply to keep the soil moist, but not soggy. In dry periods, water regularly to mimic their natural bog habitat.

How to Plant

Plant cranberries in acidic, well-drained soil. Choose a sunny spot, and dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball. Space plants 45-60cm apart. Cranberries thrive in raised beds or bog-like conditions.
