Product description

Coreopsis 'Solar Moon', commonly known as Tickseed, is a charming perennial that brings a splash of color to garden borders. Its pastel yellow, daisy-like flowers adorned with burgundy red accents and bright yellow centers create a delightful display. This variety naturalizes well, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens.

Thriving in fertile, well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade, 'Solar Moon' is drought-tolerant once established, reducing the need for frequent watering. Blooming from June through September, it provides continuous interest throughout the summer months. Its compact size, reaching up to 50 cm in height and spreading approximately 45 cm, makes it suitable for various garden settings, including borders and containers.

In addition to its ornamental appeal, Coreopsis 'Solar Moon' attracts butterflies, enhancing the ecological value of your garden. Its cut flowers make lovely indoor arrangements, allowing you to enjoy their beauty both outdoors and inside your home.

How to Water

Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist but not saturated.

How to Plant

Wait until the risk of frost has passed and plant coreopsis in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-draining soil. Enrich the soil with well-rotted organic matter and dig a hole around twice as wide as the root ball. Position the plant so the top of the root ball is at soil level then backfill with soil and compost, gently firm down, and water in well. Leave 40-50cm between plants.
