It possesses specialised stems that will actively root wherever they touch damp dirt, allowing it to weave rapidly through a container. Unlike almost everything else in a summer basket, it will happily survive freezing snow and ice to push out fresh growth the following spring.
This striking, golden foliage trailer actively despises drying out and needs a heavily saturated environment to maintain its bright colouration. Keep its compost firmly in the 'damp' category, watering the basket frequently so the soil remains consistently wet throughout the hottest parts of the year. If subjected to dry soil and harsh afternoon sun, the leaves will quickly bleach white and burn to a crisp.
