Product description
Acting as a highly dense, clumping mound of colour, the Lobelia Upright Violet is perfect for plugging unsightly gaps between your taller structural plants and cascading vines. Its rich, deep purple hues provide a massive visual impact from early summer right through to the cooler autumn months. It is an unscented, non-hardy annual in the UK, meaning it must be composted at the end of the season.
You simply cannot afford to miss a watering day with this particular, moisture-loving variety. It demands a consistently damp soil profile at all times, meaning you must check the hanging basket regularly to ensure the compost never loses its heavy moisture content. If you allow the dirt to bake dry in the wind, the entire mound will collapse into a dry, brown husk within a matter of hours.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Instructions
Top Tip
If the floral display starts to look tired and faded, do not be afraid to be ruthless. Take a pair of sharp shears and chop the entire plant back by half its height. This drastic haircut triggers the Lobelia Upright Violet to push out a massive burst of fresh green growth and new buds.
How to Water
Hanging baskets dry out rapidly, and this specific filler absolutely hates drought conditions. You must maintain a consistently damp soil environment to stop the delicate root system from crisping up. Checking the basket daily guarantees your Lobelia Upright Violet will never suffer from fatal dehydration.
How to Plant
Bury the small root plug into the middle tier of your basket using a moisture-retentive loam compost. Make sure you gently tease the roots apart before planting to encourage them to spread outward. Giving your Lobelia Upright Violet this central spot allows it to act as a brilliant, bushy filler between the taller plants.
