Product description

Agapanthus ‘Queen Mum’ is a stunning variety of African Lily and stands out from the rest with its unique dual coloured flowers. A somewhat compact perennial with thick, green strap-like leaves and tall stems that tower above the foliage bearing rounded clusters of small green-white buds that bloom into funnel-shaped white flowers with a violet-blue flush at the base of each one. This Agapanthus is well suited for coastal areas and will tolerate salty sea air.

Plant in moist, well-drained soil and keep in full sun. Quite hardy but should be kept sheltered from high winds and harsh Winter frosts. Mulch well to help protect during the colder months. Works well as a container plant.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Ongoing plant maintenance within our nursery is essential, meaning some lines are pruned back at certain times of the year to encourage new growth.

Instructions

Top Tip

Mulch or use horticultural fleece to protect the plant’s roots against frost damage in winter.

How to Water

Water regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist between spring and early autumn. Provide water more sparingly outside the growing season.

How to Plant

Choose a sunny sheltered spot and ensure the soil drains freely. Dig a generous hole and position the plant inside, planting with the crown just below the surface. Fill the hole in with soil, gently firming with your foot and water in well.
