Product description
Also known as Variegated Slender Sweet Flag, Acorus Variegatus is a compact ornamental grass boasting long, slender leaves that arch out from the centre, creating a fountain-like effect. These semi-evergreen plants hold much of their foliage through winter, adding colour and texture to damp, shady parts of the garden.
The long leaves are bright green with creamy white striped margins. In summer, the foliage is decorated with subtle brown flowers around 5cm long. Despite their insignificant appearance, these flowers are loved by bees and butterflies, attracting pollinators into the garden.
Slender Sweet Flag is a low maintenance ornamental grass plant that is easy to grow and care for. It thrives in boggy, poorly drained soil and can even be grown in aquatic baskets in the shallow edges of ponds. Fully hardy to whatever the British weather throws at it, Acorus Variegatusā slow growing nature means very little pruning is required. Simply remove dead or damaged leaves as necessary.

Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.
