CHARACTERISTICS: Baby Hoya Australis Tricolour, a variety of Wax Plant, are small house plants with glossy, succulent leaves marbled with green and creamy yellow which grow on trailing stems. They also produce clusters of small, sweetly scented, pale pink flowers.
SMALL HOUSE PLANT: Ideal indoor plants for small spaces like apartments, windowsills, bathrooms, office desks or kitchens.
PERFECT GIFT PLANT: No matter the occasion – a birthday, housewarming, or other event – a baby plant is the perfect gift for any friends or family members with a green thumb or aspiring to become a proud plant parent.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE: These plants will grow best in bright, indirect light and they even grow well under artificial lights. Allow the top half of the soil to dry out between watering and mist regularly or keep in an area with higher humidity.
Baby Hoya Australis Tricolour, commonly known as a variety of wax plant, is a small house plant with succulent, glossy leaves, marbled with shades of cream and light green and edged with darker green. Leaves grow on slender, trailing stems which cascade over the edge of the pot, and clusters of small pink, sweetly scented flowers bloom too.
Place your wax plant in an area where it will receive bright but indirect sunlight. They will even tolerate some light shade, although lowers are less likely to bloom, and they grow well under artificial lights, making them great desk plants for the office!
The miniature size of this baby plant makes it perfect for smaller homes and spaces. It would look fabulous in the living room, as bedroom plants or bathroom plants, but a baby plant is also great as a desk plant to brighten up an office. This baby plant in particular would look great on a shelf or as a hanging plant in a pot, with leaves cascading over the edge of the pot.
It’s not unusual to give your plant a name… so don’t hesitate to choose one that you think suits the plant! Try naming your plant with the first name or word that you think of when you look at it - that’s how we ended up with an orchid named Clover and spider plant called Joseph.
