Coffea Arabica is better known as the Arabian Coffee plant. This baby plant is a quirky addition to your collection and is simple to look after, even by novice plant parents. Coffea Arabica is often said to symbolise ‘a helping hand in time of need’ and makes a thoughtful gift for friends and family - even those who aren’t coffee lovers.
Multiple stems support glossy green leaves that are oval in shape and elegant in style. When the plant reaches maturity it may blossom clusters of white flowers that turn into berries as the seasons progress. These berries ripen into seeds, each containing 2 coffee beans. While the flowers are fragrant, the coffee smell we all know and love comes from the act of roasting the beans, so your plant will have a much more delicate scent.
Look after your Coffea Arabica well and in around 4 years you might even be able to make a cup of coffee from your very own homegrown beans!
Growing your Coffea Arabica from its baby stage and watching it mature over time, from a tiny leafy stem to a healthy, fully grown plant is a delight to witness.
It’s not unusual to give your plant a name… so don’t hesitate to choose one that you think suits the plant! Try naming your plant with the first name or word that you think of when you look at it - that’s how we ended up with an orchid named Clover and spider plant called Joseph.
