Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
SEASONAL AVAILABILITY - Bare Root plants are supplied from late November until Spring the following year.
CHARACTERISTICS - Tilia cordata is known for it's yellow/green flowers in Summer and its conspicuous winged fruits in Autumn.
HEIGHT AND SPREAD - Supplied in their dormant state, Small-leaved Lime grows at 1-2ft per year and can reach up to 25m+ at full maturity with a spread of 15m.
PLANTING TIPS - Bare-Root hedging is typically planted in a double staggered row of 5 plants per metre. Evergreen plants are generally planted to less density than deciduous plants, such is the nature of their dense foliage.
Tilia cordata is commonly known as 'Small-leaved Lime' and is a very popular tree that displays dark green foliage with fragrant creamy white flowers in Summer. Once the flowers fall this plant produces winged fruits that are excellent winter feeding for wildlife and wild birds.
Tilia cordata will do fine in any type of soil. Small-leaved Lime tree grows at around 1-2 feet per year and will grow to 25m+ in its lifetime.
