Product description

Yucca Variegata is an evergreen, grassy shrub with leaves that are formed through a spine-like appearance, with a fine spike at the peak of each leaf ensuring the plant remains striking on the eye throughout its time with you. A dark green shade creates the neat central line, whilst a yellow outline brings the marginal border into the leaves design. Bell-shaped, cream flowers will begin to grow in both Summer and Autumn to make the plant admireable from all angles. Planting these in moist, well-drained soil and positioning them in full sunlight is recommended. Do not overwater the plant, but make sure it is watered regularly during the Summer growing season and less-so in other periods of the year.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.

Instructions

Top Tip

Remove spent flower stalks from yucca plants to redirect energy into growth and maintain a tidy appearance. For older plants, prune dead or damaged leaves from the base to encourage healthy, new foliage.

How to Water

Water yucca sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can cause root rot, so it’s best to water deeply but infrequently. Established plants are drought-tolerant and need minimal water, while newly planted yuccas require regular watering until roots establish.

How to Plant

To plant yucca, choose a sunny spot with well-draining, sandy or gravelly soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and slightly deeper. Place the plant, backfill with soil, and firm gently. Water thoroughly after planting but allow the soil to dry between waterings. Space plants 60-90cm apart.
