Product description
This native American vine is a spectacular, ultra-hardy climber famous for doing something most wisterias cannot: blooming up to three times in a single summer. It produces stunning, silvery-blue floral cascades that are heavily scented, making it a massive draw for local pollinators. Because it blooms on "new wood" rather than old growth, it easily bypasses the danger of late spring frosts ruining its floral display.
To care for 'Blue Moon', you must provide a heavy-duty support structure and plant it in full sun with well-draining, neutral loam. While it is incredibly cold-hardy, it requires consistent, deep watering during its first year to establish its deep root system. To encourage those multiple flushes of summer flowers, you must stick to a strict bi-annual pruning schedule, cutting back the aggressive green whippy shoots in midsummer and tidying the woody framework in late winter.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Don't be too eager to prune away the Wisteria Blue Moon's summer growth; unlike most wisterias, this one can reliably produce a second (or even third) flush of flowers later in the season.
How to Water
To water Wisteria Blue Moon, soak deeply once a week in year one to build strong roots. Once mature, let the topsoil dry out, but keep it moist while its silvery-blue buds develop. Always water the base.
How to Plant
To plant Wisteria Blue Moon, dig a hole twice as wide as the rootball but exactly the same depth. Enrich the excavated soil with a generous scoop of compost to ensure a moisture-retentive loam. Place the vine carefully, ensuring the crown rests perfectly level with the surrounding soil surface. Backfill firmly, secure the main stem to your trellis, and water it thoroughly to settle the roots.
