Product description

Sarcococca Purple Stem is a stunning evergreen shrub. The plant bears small green leaves that grow off of a purple upright stem. In Winter, small red and white flowers will begin to bloom, continuing into early Spring. These bear a gorgeous fragrance, adding further character to the plant commonly known as Sweet Box.

It prefers a spot of full or partial shade, with water given well until it establishes itself. Avoid waterlogging and only water when the soil is dry to touch.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.

Instructions

Top Tip

Prune Sarcococca after flowering to maintain its shape and promote healthy growth.

How to Water

Water regularly, especially during dry periods, to keep the soil moist. Sarcococca prefers consistently moist, but well-drained soil. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely.

How to Plant

Plant Sarcococca in well-draining, moist soil in a partially shaded or shaded spot. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, place the plant, and cover with soil. Space them 60-90cm apart to allow for spreading.
