Product description
Santolina chamaecyparissus is a delightful dwarf evergreen shrub with narrow dissected leaves that have a pleasant fragrance, the leaves are green but with a silvery hue and a woolly appearance. The buds of this variety develop distinctive bright yellow button-like flower heads that grow on long stalks, the heads themselves are around 2cm wide and when bunched together they give quite a pleasant contrast with the foliage.
This variety prefers plenty of sunlight, so plant in an area that is more exposed than shaded, it is also tolerant of most soils, but grows best in moist soil that provides plenty of drainage.

Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Trim Santolina back in early spring to encourage fresh growth and maintain a tidy, compact shape.
How to Water
Water Santolina sparingly, as it is drought-tolerant once established. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings, and avoid overwatering, which can cause root rot.
How to Plant
Plant Santolina in well-drained soil with full sun exposure. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball and position the plant, filling with soil. Space plants 45-60cm apart to allow for growth. Avoid heavy, clayey soils.
