Product description
Salvia Icterina, also known as Golden Sage, is a charming evergreen perennial valued for its bright variegated foliage and compact, bushy growth habit. Supplied as a 6 pack of basket plants in a convenient carry tray, this eye-catching variety is ideal for creating colourful outdoor displays in baskets, containers, and patio planters. The green leaves edged with golden-yellow colouring bring warmth and texture throughout the year, while delicate purple-blue flowers appear during the warmer months to add an extra splash of colour.
To keep Golden Sage looking its best, plant it in a sunny spot with well-drained compost where it can develop a healthy, compact shape. Water regularly after planting while the plant establishes, then allow the compost to dry slightly between waterings to help prevent excess moisture and keep it healthy. A light trim after flowering helps maintain its shape and encourages fresh growth, making this a reliable and attractive addition to the garden.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
When Salvia is young, lightly pinching out the tips of new shoots encourages a bushier, more compact shape. This helps prevent the plant from becoming tall and open, making it better suited to a basket display where a neat, full appearance is ideal.
How to Water
Water Salvia regularly after planting while it becomes established, keeping the compost lightly moist without allowing it to become waterlogged. Once settled, allow the surface of the compost to dry slightly between waterings, as this variety prefers good drainage and does not like sitting in excess moisture.
How to Plant
Plant Salvia into a good quality, free-draining compost, positioning the plants evenly around the basket to allow their bushy growth habit to develop. Set each plant at the same depth it was growing in the carry tray, firm the compost gently around the base, and water well after planting to help it settle in.
