These nutrients are readily available to the plant's root system with the explicit purpose of supporting strong, hardy growth and encouraging the development of flowers and fruit. This is vital for allowing your olive tree to flourish, especially when grown in a container where nutrients are limited.

The application rate varies: for olive trees in the ground, use one to two handfuls (25-50g) per tree, or two handfuls per square metre for larger, established specimens. Container-grown olives have higher needs and should be given two to three handfuls per pot for each feed. It is also beneficial to replace the top 5-10cm of compost annually, mixing in a handful or two of feed with the fresh compost.
