Product description

Rootgrow Olive Tree Food is an essential product specifically formulated to provide the balanced nutrition that olive trees need to thrive, particularly in the UK climate. It is made with a carefully selected blend of nutrients designed to replicate their native Mediterranean diet, promoting the health of their distinctive silvery foliage. These nutrients are readily available to the plant's root system with the explicit purpose of supporting strong, hardy growth and encouraging the development of flowers and fruit. This is vital for allowing your olive tree to flourish, especially when grown in a container where nutrients are limited.

The application rate varies: for olive trees in the ground, use one to two handfuls (25-50g) per tree, or two handfuls per square metre for larger, established specimens. Container-grown olives have higher needs and should be given two to three handfuls per pot for each feed. It is also beneficial to replace the top 5-10cm of compost annually, mixing in a handful or two of feed with the fresh compost. This routine provides a steady supply of essential nutrients, helping your olive tree maintain its beautiful foliage and promoting a healthy crop of olives.

For the best results, this feed should be applied regularly throughout the growing season. A first application should be made in spring as new growth starts, with a second feed in summer to support the plant. To apply, evenly sprinkle the granules on the soil surface around the base of the tree. Lightly work the granules into the top layer of soil or compost, taking care not to disturb the roots, and then water the area well to activate them.
