Product description

Rootgrow Ericoid Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product specifically formulated to help establish acid-loving, ericaceous plants such as Rhododendrons, Azaleas, and Camellias. It is made with a specialised type of mycorrhizal fungi, a beneficial micro-organism with which these particular plants have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once the roots have been treated, the plant develops a highly-active secondary root system with the explicit purpose of dramatically increasing the uptake of water and nutrients. This is vital for allowing your acid-loving plants to overcome challenging soil conditions and flourish in your garden.

To apply Rootgrow Ericoid, direct contact with the roots is essential. Simply sprinkle the granules evenly into the base of the planting hole to create a layer for the plant's root system to sit directly on top of. The amount needed depends on the pot size: use one 10ml scoop for a 2L pot, two scoops for a 5L pot, and four scoops for a 10-15L pot.

This single application is all that's required, as it establishes a permanent and effective secondary root system for the plant's entire life. This lifelong partnership allows the plant to absorb water and nutrients much more effectively, especially in challenging soil conditions. This results in visibly superior natural vigour and overall health, leading to more magnificent flowers and heavier cropping, while also increasing resilience to drought and reducing the long-term need for synthetic fertilisers. Using it now, during the ideal autumn planting season, gives your new acid-loving shrubs the best possible start.
