Product description

Rootgrow Ericaceous Food is an essential product specifically formulated to feed acid-loving plants. It is made with a specialised, lime-free blend of nutrients, including essential trace elements like iron, which all acid-loving plants need to thrive. This tailored feed provides the nutrition required to support strong root development and lush, healthy foliage, with the explicit purpose of preventing common nutrient deficiencies like leaf-yellowing. This is vital for allowing your acid-loving plants to flourish in your garden.

The application rate varies: for plants in the ground, use one to two handfuls (25-50g) per shrub or two handfuls per square metre for larger plants. Container plants and topiary have higher needs and should be fed twice yearly, using two to three handfuls per pot. It is also highly beneficial to replace the top 5-10cm of compost in pots annually, mixing in a handful of feed as you do so. This routine feeding provides a continuous supply of the correct nutrients, leading to healthier growth and more magnificent flowering, season after season.

The recommended feeding times are in spring as new growth starts, again after flowering has finished, and as an autumn top dress. To apply the plant food, evenly sprinkle the granules on the soil or mulch surface around the base of your plants, extending out to the edge of their foliage. Lightly work the granules into the surface with a hand fork and then water the area well to activate them.
