Product description

Bulbs offer a wonderful chance to create a continuous and beautiful display of colourful flowers, with different varieties providing colour from late winter right through to summer. To get the absolute best from them, Rootgrow Bulb Starter is a single, biologically active treatment containing beneficial mycorrhizal fungi. It helps bulbs establish a powerful and permanent secondary root system, allowing them to grow into strong, healthy plants that you can enjoy as they return with more vigour and a better display of flowers, year after year.

While it's always best to follow the specific guidelines supplied with your bulbs, a good general rule is to dig a hole two to three times their depth. Sprinkle Rootgrow Bulb Starter into the base of the hole; use a small palmful (5-10g) for smaller bulbs and corms, or a more generous palmful (10-20g) for larger ones like tubers. Position the bulb with its pointed head facing upwards, ensuring its base is in direct contact with the granules. Finally, backfill with soil, firm gently to remove air gaps, and water the area well.

While many hardy, spring-flowering bulbs can be left in the ground to return year after year, it is important to remember that not all types will survive cold, wet winters. Tender, summer-flowering bulbs and tubers, such as Dahlias, should be carefully lifted after the first frosts and stored in a dry, frost-free place until they can be replanted the following spring. As a guide, a single pack of Bulb Starter will typically treat an average of 25 bulbs, depending on their size.
