Product description
Pyracantha 'Golden Sun' is a spectacular evergreen shrub that offers vibrant, multi-season interest in the garden. In late spring and early summer, its arching branches are smothered in dense clusters of small, fragrant white flowers that are a magnet for pollinators. These are followed by the main display: a profusion of bright, golden-yellow berries that persist for a very long time, providing a welcome splash of colour. This dramatic show is set against a backdrop of glossy, dark green leaves that remain all year.
Beyond its beauty, 'Golden Sun' is an incredibly tough and functional plant. Its dense, thorny habit makes it an outstanding choice for creating an impenetrable security hedge that is also highly ornamental. It is also exceptionally well-suited for training flat against walls and fences, where it can provide vertical interest without taking up much space. This Firethorn is a haven for wildlife, as its berries provide a vital food source for birds, making it a hardy and low-maintenance addition to any garden design.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
The secret to a magnificent berry display on your Pyracantha is simple: prune for shape immediately after the flowers have faded. Never prune when the colourful berries are present, as you will be cutting off both the current season's show and the wood that will produce next year's flowers.
How to Water
Pyracantha shrubs will thrive in any well-drained soil and with regular watering for its first year to help it get established. The single most important care rule is for pruning: always trim the shrub to shape immediately after the flowers have faded, as pruning at any other time will remove the spectacular berries.
How to Plant
For Pyracantha, wearing sturdy gloves, water the pot and dig a hole twice its width, mixing in some compost. Place the plant in the hole so the top of the rootball is level with the surrounding soil. Backfill the hole, firm the soil gently around the roots, and finish with a thorough watering to settle everything in.
