Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Remove spent blooms to encourage a longer display, but leave a few flowers to set seed if you’d like more Cowslips to appear in future seasons.
How to Water
Water Cowslip regularly during its first growing season to help it settle and develop a strong root system. Once established, keep the soil consistently moist in spring and early summer, taking care not to let it dry out completely.
How to Plant
Plant Cowslip in moist, well‑drained soil, setting the crown level with the soil surface and firming gently around the roots. Choose a spot in full sun or partial shade, allowing around 20-30cm of space so the plant’s natural rosette can develop without crowding neighbouring plants.
