Product description

Passiflora Purple Rain is a unique looking Passion Flower with colourful flowers in Summer. Dark green leaves surround a gorgeous display of purple flowering, which is accompanied by hints of white, a red centre circle and topped off with a yellow-green, propeller-shaped feature. They will bloom between July and September, with the semi-evergreen plant also producing orange-yellow fruit between September and October. Whilst the fruit isn't particularly palatable, it gives this variety much-welcomed interest in the latter period of the year.

Lavender Lady is a climber, making it an ideal choice for covering up any plain or unsightly walls in and around your garden. It can also be used as a great form of groundcover, as well as creating a fantastic display in borders, pots and containers. Place it in a sunny or partially shaded area of the garden, in a moist, well-drained soil. You will only need to water it when the soil is dry to touch.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a growers pot.

Instructions

Top Tip

Passiflora vines benefit from regular pruning to control growth and promote stronger blooming.

How to Water

Water Passiflora regularly, ensuring the soil is kept moist but not soggy. Avoid overwatering, as this can cause root rot. Water more frequently during hot weather, but let the soil dry slightly between waterings.

How to Plant

Plant Passiflora in well-draining soil with plenty of sunlight. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball and place the plant at soil level. Space plants 90-120cm apart to allow for growth, and provide a trellis or support for the vines to climb.
