Product description

A splash of bright yellow can make a real difference to the garden as the seasons change, and this plant provides plenty of it. Pansy Yellow produces cheerful flowers from autumn through winter and into spring, keeping borders, containers, and seasonal displays colourful when many other plants have finished flowering. The compact foliage provides a simple backdrop for the blooms, while the plants combine easily with other seasonal bedding and foliage.

Naturally compact and hardy, Pansy Yellow is straightforward to grow and fits easily into a range of planting schemes. It performs well in full sun or partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soil or compost, with faded flowers best removed regularly to encourage further blooms. Its bright flowers and compact growth make it easy to incorporate into seasonal displays, while its long flowering period keeps the plants looking colourful well into spring.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.

Instructions

Top Tip

Pansies generally do not need heavy feeding, particularly when growing in reasonably fertile compost or soil. Too much fertiliser can encourage leafy growth at the expense of flowers, so a light touch is best.

How to Water

Keep an eye on the soil during dry spells, as Pansies still need moisture even when temperatures are cooler. Water when the surface begins to dry, taking particular care with plants in containers where compost can dry out more quickly.

How to Plant

Choose a sunny or partially shaded spot and prepare the soil by removing any weeds and breaking up compacted areas before planting. Set the Pansies into the prepared ground or compost at regular intervals, leaving enough space between each plant for the foliage to develop and the flowers to form a full display.
