Product description

This six pack of Nicotiana F1 Cuba Mixed bedding plants will be very easy to grow for a show-stopping display all summer long. This particular Nicotiana variety stands out due to its extraordinary compact habit, great earliness and excellent continuous flowering. Their five pointed florets are trumpet shaped and they create wonderful displays, mass planted in bedding areas and patio containers. The flowers open up in late afternoon and are on fragrant display all evening so make sure to plant some in your window boxes as their fragrance can waft in through an open window.

Plant in rich, fertile and well-drained soil but while they like lots of water, they do not like wet soil. Grow in partial-shade to full sun. These plants have sticky leaves and debris can be captured on the leaves, gently remove as to not damage the plants.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.

Instructions

Top Tip

Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming and keep plants tidy. Nicotiana are especially fragrant in the evening, making them perfect for planting near seating areas or pathways where their scent can be enjoyed on summer nights.

How to Water

Water regularly to keep soil lightly moist, especially during dry or warm spells. Nicotiana prefer consistent moisture but will not tolerate waterlogged roots. In containers, ensure proper drainage and monitor moisture daily in hot weather.

How to Plant

Plant Nicotiana bedding plants in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny or partially shaded location. These upright plants produce clusters of tubular, star-shaped flowers with a sweet evening scent, ideal for borders, containers, and cottage-style bedding schemes. Space plants 20–30cm apart for airflow and even growth.
