Product description

'Peach Melba' is a free-flowering Nasturtium variety boasting abundant single flowers in a bright shade of cream with burgundy splotches producing a gorgeous peachy tone. Flowering from June to September, these lightly fragranced flowers have a delicately sweet scent. Both the leaves and flowers are edible, adding colour and a peppery flavour to salads.

These dwarf plants are easy to grow, preferring a sheltered spot in full sun in well-draining soil. Water well after planting and during dry spells to keep the soil evenly moist but not overly wet. Poor soil is ideal and promotes flower production, while more fertile soils encourage leafy growth at the expense of blooms.

Also known as Indian Cress or by the botanical name Tropaeolum, Nasturtium plants are hugely popular with bees and butterflies, attracting plenty of pollinators into the garden.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.

Instructions

Top Tip

Nasturtiums attract pollinators, making them great for companion planting. Deadhead faded blooms to extend flowering and keep the plant looking tidy. They’ll continue to thrive with just occasional care and regular sun exposure.

How to Water

Water nasturtiums regularly during hot, dry periods, especially in containers. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings to avoid encouraging too much leafy growth at the expense of flowers. Once established, they are quite drought-tolerant.

How to Plant

Position nasturtiums in full sun and well-drained soil. They perform best in poorer soils where they produce more flowers than foliage. Ideal for trailing from pots, beds, or walls, they require little fuss and quickly establish with minimal care.
