Product description
Miscanthus ‘Zebrinus’, commonly known as Zebra Grass, is a distinctive ornamental grass prized for its bold striped foliage. The upright green leaves are marked with striking horizontal creamy-yellow bands, creating a unique pattern that adds drama and texture to borders, mixed beds, and large containers. In early autumn, tall copper-tinged flower plumes rise above the foliage, lasting through autumn and into winter for extended seasonal interest. This hardy perennial provides structure and colour throughout the year, making it a standout choice for any garden design.
For best results, plant Miscanthus ‘Zebrinus’ in full sun and well drained soil. Water regularly during dry spells and cut back old stems in late winter or early spring to encourage fresh growth. Space plants generously, leaving around 90cm between them, to allow clumps to mature and divide every few years to maintain vigour. Low maintenance and reliable, Zebra Grass is an excellent option for gardeners seeking ornamental grasses that combine striking foliage, seasonal plumes, and dependable performance.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Miscanthus thrives with a yearly trim in early spring before new growth appears. This helps maintain shape and promotes fresh growth.
How to Water
Water Miscanthus regularly during the first growing season to establish roots. Once established, they are drought-tolerant but will benefit from occasional deep watering during dry periods. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
How to Plant
Plant Miscanthus in well-drained soil with full sun exposure. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, place the plant in, and fill the hole with soil. Space plants about 90-120cm apart to allow for growth. Water thoroughly after planting.
